Review: Don't Dangle Your Participle

Don't Dangle Your Participle Don't Dangle Your Participle by Vanita Oelschlager
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was my first encounter with Vanita Oelschlager and I am very pleased to have this opportunity to experience her writing and drawings.

I would recommend this picture book for 9 yr old- who ever is having difficulty grasping the concept of verbs vs participles.
The book starts out with explaining what a verb and participle are. The pages that follow give examples of dangling participles, then, on the flip side, the correct way to write the sentence. Some of the sentences get pretty funny. I would use this with my children by seeing is they could correct the sentence before flipping the page.

The pictures are very nicely done. The pictures are very humorous when drawn with the dangling participle.

Thank you NetGalley.com for the chance to read this book for free.
